Chronic low back pain is defined as habitual pain in the lumbar region which has been present for more than three months.
These guidelines concern chronic uncomplicated low back pain. They exclude the diagnosis and management of secondary low back pain caused by chronic inflammatory disease, trauma, tumour or infection.
