HAS (French National Authority for Health) organized together with the BMJ (British Médical Journal) the first conference dedicated to the clinical impact of quality and safety improvement programmes in health care.Due to the closure of french airports, the Symposium has been cancelled.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS (Closed on decembrer 2009)
If you are involved in a quality improvement programme that has proved to be beneficial to patients in terms of clinical outcomes, we invite you to present your work at the HAS-BMJ conference.
Your abstract (French and English) must be submitted by email ( has-bmj@has-sante.fr ) to HAS before 1st December 2009.
The abstract template and the instructions are available on the bottom of this page.
The selected abstracts will be presented either as an oral presentation (approximately 10 minutes) or a poster session. Presentations must be given in French. Abstracts will be published (in French and in English) in a journal of the BMJ publishing group.

Definition of Clinical impact of quality improvement initiatives as adopted for the Symposium :
Consideration will be given to initiatives that improve measurable patient outcomes (mortality, morbidity, quality of life, length of hospital stay) and that take account of efficacy, safety, and access to care.
Initiatives providing robust and reliable impact measurements that are strongly correlated with patient outcomes will also be considered.
