Reason for request

Inclusion on the list of medicines approved for hospital use in the extension of the indication: “the management of urinary incontinence with neurogenic detrusor overactivity due to spinal cord injury or multiple sclerosis, who are not adequately managed with anticholinergics and who are catheterising”.

The actual benefit of BOTOX is substantial.


Clinical Added Value

BOTOX provides a moderate improvement in actual benefit (IAB III) in the treatment of urinary incontinence with neurogenic detrusor overactivity in spinal cord injury patients and patients with multiple sclerosis who are not adequately managed with anticholinergics and who are catheterising as a method of passing urine.
