  1. Treat with high-pressure compression if PAOD1 is not present
  2. Use multilayered compression if possible
  3. Ensure that patients comply with compression
  4. Adapt treatment if there is associated PAOD
  5. Perform superficial venous surgery and/or prescribe long-term compression to prevent recurrence
